You do not need to go to a Japanese used car exporter to find the car of your dreams for a great price.  As a matter of fact, you can check out the police impound car sales in your neighborhood.  Most of the Japanese cars you find at a police sale are going to be newer models and you will be able to attend the police sale auction in order to bid on the car of your choice.  If you are the winning bidder you may be able to purchase a newer model year Japanese car for a fraction of the cost of a brand new one.

The Japanese car that is sold at one of these police sales are acquired by the police and other government agencies such as the Sheriff’s department, IRS, state highway patrol offices, FBI, DEA, and even the IRS.  The vehicles were used in criminal acts, are cars that people could not pay for and were repossessed, or are from companies where the car was involved in some form of fraudulent act.  The agency that has the car in their possession has the right to resell the car to the public after it has been in seizure status for a set amount of time.

Most of the people that attend these used car auctions will mull around the newer makes and models like Lexus.  However, a vehicle that has been seized and is no more than five years old will also make a good choice.  You may even save more on these Japanese cars especially if you can easily get parts for the car.  If the car is too old, it may be difficult to repair if it breaks down no matter how good a deal it might be.  Most police auctions are designed to get the cars off of the police lot, and this can be to your advantage as you can save up to 90% off of the current retail price.
